OCTOBER 4TH is the last day to register to vote by mail for the election on November 4th, 2008.

If you are eligible to vote, but are not registered you can register by:

• Visiting the Washington Secretary of State Online Voter Registration Form
• Getting a registration form from Pullman City Hall 325 SE Paradise St, Pullman
• Getting a registration form from the Whitman County Auditor in the County Court House 400 N Main St, Colfax
• Getting a registration form from the Whitman County Democrats Headquarters at 127 N Grand Ave, Pullman

With the Primary election behind us and the election results close to certification we can look at the results and see that it will be a strong year for Democrats in Whitman County.

Our Governor, Christine Gregoire, is ahead by about 30,000 votes and 2 percentage points state-wide. In Whitman County Governor Gregoire finished only 500 votes behind Republican Dino Rossi with over 8,000 votes cast. In addition to finishing close in Whitman County the Governor won in Spokane and Asotin Counties. With hard work this fall she can win in Whitman County.

In races for the State Legislature Tyana Kelley and Ken Caylor both finished with respectable totals against better funded, incumbent opponents in the 9th Legislative District. With your contributions and hard work we can close the gap.

In the race for Whitman County Commissioner District 2 Pat O'Neill has 55% of the vote in the primary and is ready to campaign hard in the general election and win!

There will be a party at Democratic Headquarters 127 N Grand Ave Pullman on Tuesday August 19th at 5:00pm to watch the Primary Election results come in. Everyone is welcome to come and celebrate.

Mark Mays, Candidate for Congress for the 5th CD against Cathy McMorris Rogers, will be at Headquarters at 4:30 on Wednesday the 9th. You are invited to join us in welcoming Mark to Whitman County, to hear his views on important issues, and to hear his answers your questions.

The Headquarters is as 127 N. Grand in Pullman. City Parking is at the bottom of Davis Way, across from Cougar Plaza.
