Newsletter Feb. 2010
As Chair of the Whitman County Democrats, I am calling you to Convention on April 10, 2010. We will meet at 10:00am at The Hilltop Inn in Pullman. Our immediate tasks will be to select Delegates and Alternates to the State Convention, and to approve resolutions and our county platform in preparation for the state event.
In 2008, prior to the presidential election, Whitman County Democrats turned out in record numbers in hopes of making positive changes in the direction and policies of our country. In January, 2009, because of our efforts, and the efforts of county organizations like ours all over the country, we were able to watch the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama in Washington, D.C.
As we consider the state of the nation at present, however, it is clear that the work we set out to do is not yet accomplished, and that our goals cannot be achieved with a single burst of enthusiasm. The Country and the Democratic Party need informed, committed citizens who are dedicated to the long haul, and who will work for the principles of integrity in government, inclusive community-building in our nation, and effective, humane governmental actions for the good of our country. In this spirit, I invite you to join in the good work.
-Richard Law
